Management Training that actually changes how your team operates

We run focused, small-group workshops across the Northern Territory. Managers leave with tools they can apply the next morning, not binders that collect dust.

The gap between being promoted and being prepared

What we hear from organisations

  • New managers default to doing the work themselves instead of delegating it
  • Difficult conversations get postponed until they become crises
  • Team meetings feel like status updates, not problem-solving sessions
  • High performers leave because their manager never learned how to coach them
  • Senior leaders spend too much time fixing issues that middle management should own

What changes after our workshops

  • Managers delegate with clear expectations and follow-up rhythms
  • Feedback happens weekly, not quarterly or never
  • Meeting agendas shift to decisions and actions
  • Retention improves because people feel supported and challenged
  • Senior leaders reclaim hours each week for strategic work

Workshops and coaching built for working managers

New manager foundations

A two-day intensive for people in their first twelve months of managing others. Covers delegation frameworks, one-on-one meeting structures, and how to give feedback that people actually hear. Groups of eight to twelve participants, run on-site at your office or at our East Lucasview training room.

Difficult conversations lab

A single-day workshop focused entirely on the conversations managers avoid: performance issues, interpersonal friction, and restructuring news. Participants practise with trained actors in realistic scenarios, then debrief with a facilitator. We cap each session at ten people so everyone gets multiple reps.

Strategic planning for mid-level leaders

Three half-day sessions spread over six weeks. Participants bring a real business challenge from their team and build a twelve-month plan with peer feedback at each stage. Includes a 90-minute coaching call between sessions to troubleshoot implementation.

Ongoing coaching retainer

For organisations that want sustained support, not a one-off event. We pair each manager with a coach for monthly 60-minute sessions over six or twelve months. Topics shift as the manager grows. Most clients combine this with one of our workshops to anchor the learning.

Four steps to get your managers moving

1

Scoping call

We spend 30 minutes understanding your team size, current challenges, and what success looks like. No forms, no sales deck.

2

Tailored proposal

Within five business days you receive a programme outline, pricing, and suggested dates. We adjust content to your industry and seniority mix.

3

Delivery

Workshops happen at your site or ours. Every session includes practice exercises, not just slides. Participants leave with a personal action plan.

4

Follow-through

Six weeks after the workshop we run a 90-minute check-in to see what stuck, what didn't, and what needs reinforcing. This is included in every engagement.

Leadership Leap Training facilitator in a modern office environment

Built by people who have managed teams, not just studied them

Our founding team spent a combined 35 years in operational management roles across mining, government, and healthcare before starting Leadership Leap Training in 2018. We got tired of watching talented people get promoted into management with zero preparation and a pat on the back.

Every facilitator on our roster has held a people-management role for at least eight years. That matters because participants can tell immediately whether the person at the front of the room has actually fired someone, restructured a team, or delivered bad news to a board. Theory without scars is easy to ignore.

We work almost exclusively in the Northern Territory. That focus means we understand remote team dynamics, fly-in-fly-out rosters, and the particular challenges of managing in smaller communities where your direct report is also your neighbour.

What organisations report after working with us

37% fewer escalations to senior leadership

Measured across six client organisations over twelve months. Managers handled issues at their level instead of passing them up.

Employee engagement scores rose an average of 12 points

Based on pre- and post-programme pulse surveys run by our clients' own HR teams.

Coaching retainer clients retain 91% of their managers year-over-year

Compared to an industry average closer to 78% in the NT resources sector.

Time-to-productivity for new managers cut by roughly five weeks

Reported by three government clients who tracked onboarding milestones before and after our foundations programme.

Things people ask before booking

Our standard cap is twelve for the New Manager Foundations programme and ten for the Difficult Conversations Lab. Smaller groups mean more practice time per person. If you have more participants, we run a second cohort rather than cramming everyone into one room.

Yes. We regularly deliver workshops at mine sites, pastoral stations, and regional government offices across the NT. Travel and accommodation costs are quoted separately and transparently. For sites with limited facilities, we bring our own projector, printed materials, and even catering contacts.

They receive a recording of the group discussion (with permission from other participants) and a 30-minute individual catch-up call before the next session. We have found this keeps people on track without penalising them for the operational realities of their jobs.

Every programme is adjusted after the scoping call. For a mining client, the delegation exercises might focus on shift handovers. For a government department, they might centre on managing across multiple reporting lines. The core frameworks stay the same; the examples and practice scenarios change.

A two-day on-site workshop for up to twelve people starts at $8,400 plus GST. Coaching retainers begin at $1,200 per manager for a six-month engagement. We provide a detailed quote after the scoping call so there are no surprises.
